Cairo

Cairo is a son of our foundation bitch Freya, from her last litter, and the only red male we have kept. He is lighter on his feet than Varro, 86 pounds, with a long clean neck, a deep red coat and rust markings that have stayed sharp instead of washing out. His photos are from a cool morning at the lake last winter, which is as close to a beach as he gets. Cairo is the dog visitors end up sitting next to. He is social and unbothered in public, and he holds a CGCA, a BH-VT and the DPCA Working Aptitude Certificate. We did not title him further in sport because Annika handles one dog at a time and Varro needed the field hours. We use our males late on purpose. Cairo turned six this month with a normal echocardiogram and a February Holter showing two single VPCs in 24 hours, well inside normal. He carries one copy of vWD and one copy of the DCM2 variant, both inherited from Freya, who is almost twelve. He is only bred to bitches clear of both.
